Canon Pixma TR7520 Detailed Review
Here are all the essential details of the printer that you need to know before buying.
Build and Design
This printer has a good design. The dimensions are reasonably small with 7.5” height, 17.3″ width, 13.8″ depth, and a weight of 17.4 lbs. It is entirely plastic with a removable power cable, making it easy to replace if it gets spoilt. The scan lid does not require any aid to remain open, but it is impossible to extend it to scan thicker documents. The display console has to be manually raised whenever carrying out any printing jobs or when changing cartridges. However, space is restricted, and therefore the output tray has to be closed to access the input tray. Pulling out the paper jams can be challenging because they can only be accessed from behind the device, detaching a few pieces to get to the jam.

The Canon Pixma TR7520 comes in a 3.0” touchscreen. The display is touch-sensitive, large, and has ‘home’ and ‘back’ tangible buttons for easy navigation. However, there is lagging when navigating, and the display lacks sensitivity, and you have to press harder to respond to any action. To work efficiently, place the printer on a lower table to avoid tilting the display upwards whenever you want to print. Otherwise, you will block the output tray.
The printer has a paper capacity of 200 sheets divided into two- 100 sheets in the main tray and another 100 sheets in the rear feeder, an adequate capacity for an averagely priced all-in-one printer. It also contains an auto-duplexer for printing both sides. It has a letter-sized scanner on top with a 20-sheet automatic document feeder used to scan, copy or fax a pile of documents unsupervised.
Mobile Printing and Connectivity
It is possible to connect the Canon Pixma TR7520 directly to a computer using a USB cable. You can also perform other tasks such as scanning or printing from a mobile device through Bluetooth using the Canon Print app. This printer supports Pixma Cloud Link enabling you to access your files straight from storage sites.
The printer has good speed. When printing only black documents, the initial copy comes out quickly, but the rate does not increase for the following copies, which is the same for colored papers. Despite the TR7520 not being a dedicated photo printer, it prints photos very quickly. The trays can hold 100 up to 100 sheets each. You are able to save time since you do not have to reload frequently. Also, its double-sided printing will help you save time.
Pixma TR7520 has great scanning features, including flatbed, sheetfed, 24-bit scan color depth, and 1200 DPI scan resolution. When using Canon’s IJ software to scan, the default resolution is 600 DPI. If you want to achieve a higher resolution, you can manually adjust from the ‘Advanced Mode’ in the settings menu.
This printer has five ink tanks that comprise both dye and pigment-based black inks, including the standard magenta, cyan, photo blue, and yellow. The complete output quality is beyond the standard with impressive text, good photos, and graphics. Text output should be satisfactory for business use, including those requiring tiny fonts.
The cost per print for the TR7520 is fantastic. The ink cartridges are sensibly priced, and therefore the final cost does not increase with time, even if you print a lot. It is cheaper to purchase the ink cartridges in bulk, but you can also buy them individually. If you buy the printer directly from canon, you can enlist in their Auto-Replenishment service, a subscription service for ink.
